Tales on SMRT Trains

8 September 2010 (Wednesday)

Actually this event wasn't widely publicised. Mama happened to notice the poster at Serangoon MRT station on our way to school. As it was something new to me - a storytelling session for kids on the MRT train, mama decided to sign me up for the event.

On the day of the event, we were surprised to hear that a whole train was catered just for the storytelling session!

This event was free but we had to tap our ezlink card at the station gantry. The train moved from Dhoby Ghaut Circle Line Station at 3pm to Marymount Station and then back to Dhoby Ghaut station again.

We were grouped according to the kids' age. Each age group will go into a different carriage in the train where there was a storyteller in each carriage. The lady in grey was our story-teller, she was good in engaging with the kids.

Kids were seated on the floor.

Look at the crowd on the train!

Due to the timing (3pm to 4pm), some kids were falling asleep halfway through the session. I was sleepy too as it was actually my nap time then. However, I managed to sit through the whole one hour session and can even sang the song taught by the story-teller, mama was so proud of me.
It was a good experience for all of us :)
